Laurel Wreath Ring

This is my first ever ring design, which was formally inspired by the crown of Apollo. Everything about this design was a learning experience, from carving the ring out of wax sheet, to setting my first stone. The final design ended up being far too thin, and was later molded and reworked to add more substance for future replication. This rendition is cast in sterling silver, with a 3mm cushion cut London blue Topaz. The photos below are ordered through the steps of creation, from concept image to the finished design.
