Ouroboros

The serpent eating its own tail is an ancient metaphor for eternity and the circle of life. My approach to this design was to convey a sense of timelessness by using as few elements as possible to create the image of the snake, with a priority on making the ring pleasing to the touch. No drawing necessary, I just went right into the wax carving. This ring was originally cast in 14K gold, and has since been molded recast in sterling silver.
