Scotch Thistle Ring

This ring was commissioned by a client who wanted to celebrate their Scottish heritage and incorporate an amethyst that belonged to her grandmother. The design I landed on was inspired by Celtic knots and Greco-Roman acanthus leaf patterns, with the amethyst blooming in the crown of the thistle bulb. This design was hand carved in wax, with full sculpted detail all the way around the band and through to the underside of the ring.
